in 1940, Lanz howler moved to the united states in order to escape war torn europe. while doing so he settled in traverse city, michigan and began working in lightbulb manufacturing. after work he would spend his late evenings working in his garage to experiment and perfect the t12 design. once he finalized his prototype he invested his life savings into opening a small manufacturing plant and distribution company named supereon. supereon is a term that describes the longest unit of time known to man-kind, a strong statement to describe how long his lightbulbs would last to future customers.
